Can I take a minute to brag on my husband?
(Of course you can! It's your blog!)
Today, I took a nap. Like, an intentional, laid-on-the-couch-with-a-blanket-and-an-intention-to-fall-asleep, glorious, 3-hour nap. I never take naps. Ever.
When I woke up, Husband wasn't here and I figured that he had gone somewhere to get dinner. A few minutes later, he walks through the door with a bouquet of flowers and a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates... just because!
Later, I was frantically looking for the laundry I had washed earlier. I knew I had washed and dried it and put it in the living room (before I fell asleep), but it wasn't anywhere! I asked Husband if he knew where it was, and he said, "I folded it and put it away!"
I couldn't ask for more. :)

Real life.
I know that I keep talking and talking about this, but... um... I'm graduating.
Next week.
After next week, I won't be a college student any more.
I'm writing my last paper of my college career.
Today was the last Tuesday of college classes I'll ever have.
My cap and gown came in today. I'm picking them up tomorrow.
I'm actually freaking out. I think I'm going to throw up.
Here's why- I need a job. My degree will be in Early Childhood Education, which is a field that I cannot wait to be working in. Unfortunately, most schools aren't hiring teachers in December. I'm hoping to get a long-term substitute position (maternity leave, anyone?). I'm freaking out about the money situation. Right now, Husband and I make around $400/month (which is pathetic, but it works for us). If I can't get a job, we'll be down to $200/month, which is not possible.
I'm trying to trust God. He has provided for us in the past, and I know that he will continue to do so in the future. It's just so hard because I can't see what he's doing.
If you think about it... say a little prayer for me and my fellow grads. Thanks!

I know I'm not the only one...
Alright, ladies, time to 'fess up... who else had a crush on Bernard the Elf (from The Santa Clause)?
He still holds a special place in my heart. :)

I'm back!
So we meet again...
I know, I know. I've been gone for awhile. Although I really wish that I could have been blogging this entire time, I'm not going to apologize. I've been living life the way I need to.
Now, though, I'm ready to come back! I've definitely missed blogging and have thought about this little page almost every day. Though I don't have any followers, I find blogging to be incredibly therapeutic, and I look forward to it every day.
Since I've been gone... not much has happened. Not much to blog about, at least! We are loving life with a kitten (which has quickly turned into life with a cat! She grew up so fast!). She is equally sweet and rotten, and I just can't get enough of her. :)
I'm also graduating soon! I've been working like crazy to finish up my classwork and work on my teaching portfolio. The problem is- the closer I get to graduation, the harder it is to drag my lazy self out of bed in the mornings!
Husband and I celebrated our 6-month anniversary! We didn't really have the time or money to do anything fancy, so we stayed at home, ate Oreo ice cream, and watched a Harry Potter movie. We also decorated our apartment for Christmas for the first time! It was so fun! I'll be sure to post pictures soon (as in, as soon as the apartment is presentably clean)!
I think that about covers my month... unfortunately, now I need to write a paper that's due TOMORROW. Eek!

30 Days of Thanks
Happy November!
It is officially the Christmas Season, and it is absolutely my favorite time of the year! November is about being thankful, and December is focused on family and friends (and, this year, GRADUATION)! I know many other bloggers are doing 30 Days of Thanks, and I want to jump on the bandwagon. What better way to display thanks than to write about it for the whole world to see?
On day 1, I'd like to focus on the person I am most thankful for- my husband. He is one of the most wonderful souls I have ever met. He cares for me more than I ever imagined anyone could. He blesses me tremendously with the small things he does. Here's a few, just for reference:
1. Two days ago, he paid for my snack attack at the store.
2. Monday, when I was at work, he brought me a pumpkin spice latte. I didn't even ask for it!
3. When I came home from work Monday, he had made the bed, put in a load of laundry, and mopped the kitchen floor.
4. He said yes... to a kitten! (More on that in a second.)
I am so grateful that he chose me to be his lifelong partner. I can't imagine living without him!
(Ok... mushy gushy time is over!)
Here's an update on the kitty situation! On Monday, Husband agreed to let me get a cat. Obviously, I was all over Craigslist that night. I found a precious cat that I fell in love with, but after emailing the owner, I found out she has fleas. Unfortunately, we can't deal with fleas. I kept looking and found the sweetest-looking kitty I have ever seen! I called last night about her, and went to pick her up today! Introducing... Leia!

The woman I got her from, who rescues cats for a living, said that she was found in a cardboard box that was thrown over the fence of an apartment complex. People can be so awful! I can't imagine anyone being so cruel to this sweet little thing. She is 10 weeks old and just the most snuggly kitten I have ever met! She wasn't a fan of the car ride, but after we got home, she wouldn't leave my lap! I am absolutely in love! She is another thing I am grateful for... there's 2 in one day!
What are you thankful for?

Frankenstorm!
We're really feeling the threat of Hurricane Sandy here in central Ohio- crazy rumors are flying around (like that we will get up to 2 feet of snow)! We are under flood watches and wind advisories right now.
What's really nuts is that it was 80 degrees just 3 days ago! I guess that's what I get for living in Ohio!

All I want right now...
... is a kitten! I've been asking and asking Husband to buy me one, but our apartment lease says "NO PETS!"
I've begged. Pleaded. Cried.
(Well, crying was not my fault.)
One night, we were coming home from Walmart and Husband was driving. We were stopped at a red light and he was texting, so he didn't see the light turn green. The car behind us honked and Husband snapped back to reality, but the other car pulled up next to us on the road. Husband didn't want to be next to him at the next stop light, so he pulled into the closest parking lot... which was the pet store parking lot.
I, of course, had not been paying any attention to any of this and only noticed when we pulled into the pet store. I immediately asked, "What are we doing here?!" to which Husband replied, "Just trying to get away from that jerk," and pulled out of the parking lot. I managed to say, "Oh... I thought..." before bursting into tears.
Needless to say, Husband felt terrible... but not terrible enough to turn around and get me a kitten.
I'm not giving up home yet... Christmas is coming!

(This is from my arsenal of cute pictures to make Husband secretly want a kitty, too!)
